The electronic assistant drivers today are so numerous that it is not easy to come up with a new assistant. But the updated Mazda3 together with the senior “six” has received such chip which you will not meet in other cars. It’s about G-Vectoring Control.

The interior of the “treshka” always pleased the driver with its convenience – which is only the front seats with great lateral support, in which you do not get tired. And according to the level of development, the salon even equaled the cars in the class above, offering electric adjustments to the front seats, a projection display, a high-quality multimedia system that, unlike its competitors, does not “slow down”.

The steering wheel after restyling became more practical, having got a function of heating, but more importantly, the buttons on the spokes of the “steering wheel” have finally lined up in one row, so that now they will not get lost as in the previous random scattering of keys.

Joystick control of the multimedia center on the separation tunnel remained unchanged. And there is nothing to it to him. Problems with the use of the selector have not been used before, it is intuitive and convenient, as well as the volume control that took place next door.

For the quality of finishing materials “Japanese” – a solid four. “Sheepskin” is trimmed with noble soft leather, a torpedo made of soft plastic, on the seats – a combined upholstery fabric + leather. Everything is good and mazdovski stylish.

But a fly in the ointment is also there: this is a cramped sofa, designed for small people. Passengers with the same growth of 180+ will feel discomfort, propping up the backs of the front seats with their feet.

Quiet but smooth

And what about acoustic comfort? Having dispersed to “hundred”, he listened. Silence. The merit of excellent aerodynamics (0.26) and an active flap under the falshradiator grating? Not only. The updated model uses improved door seals, additional soundproof materials on the roof, under the dashboard and under the separation tunnel. The obedient in check

After the upgrade, Mazda 3 received the G-Vectoring Control system, designed to improve the car’s behavior in corners. About the sensations a little later, before a few words about what it is and how it works.

To the car traveled along the intended trajectory with less deviation from the course, the system continuously monitors the work of the engine, transmission and suspension. Before the turn and in its various phases, the electronics reduces the supply of traction to the drive wheels to load the front axle and thereby improve the grip of the wheels with the road. Similarly, when driving through turns, an experienced driver is operating, but unlike him, the electronics are strangely delirious and not efficient enough – the deceleration level rarely exceeds 0.01 g.

GVC I tested on the racing track. Before it rained, and the track was slippery. But it turned out that it was even for the better. In a situation where the car clung to the road worse and tried to get off the trajectory, it was easier to understand the effectiveness of the system.

To begin with, sat in the “treshku” without G-Vectoring and, after accelerating to 65 km / h, screwed into the rotation by 90 degrees without releasing the accelerator. The front end went out from the trajectory, and quite noticeably. Later he repeated the maneuver, but already in a restyled car. The same turn, the same speed, but this time rushed more confidently, and the GVC worked on the bend, allowing you to zarulit on a clearly defined trajectory. However, before high speeds, the electronics are helpless. I had to accelerate to 80 km / h, as the car on a slippery road led to the side. Well, where are you, G-Vectoring? No, it’s definitely not worth overestimating the possibilities of electronics.

Smooth running of the Mazda 3 with its front “MacPherson” and the rear mnogorychazhko at height. Front shock absorbers in the updated model are reconfigured. The design uses modified valves, which provide a greater effect at low piston speeds, and on the contrary, smaller – at high, making the car more stable in different driving modes. In addition, an oil with a high viscosity coefficient is used, which reduces inertial vibrations. The bushings of the front stabilizer of lateral stability are made of softer material, due to which the initial phase of the rotation the suspension worked more smoothly.

Rolling over the paving stones in pleasure – a cobblestone “treshka” digesting at ease, without excess shaking and voice acting. And doubly pleased that with such softness, our “Japanese” did not turn into a clumsy bear. The car rides well, reacting to the rotation of the rim with a barely noticeable delay, and two and a half revolutions from the stop to the stop allow you to do without interceptions. If you expect from “treshki” more and quickness, you will be disappointed. The 1.5-liter 120-hp “skayaktivny” motor modernization has bypassed, and it is a pity. The deficit of forces was felt on the German autobahns at every sortie to the extreme left, but the speed there, it should be noted, is quite different. From 130 km / h “Japanese” was reluctant to accelerate, acting on the nerves breathing in her back “no limiters.”

However, for a leisurely comfortable ride through the city streets of traction this motor will suffice with interest. A 6-speed “automatic” will leave the best impressions with smooth switching and minimal delay in response to gas. Yes, and the expense pleases – up to ten liters per “hundred”.

Restyling went to Mazda3 for the benefit. The updated model has added in comfort in comparison with its predecessor, having received a warm steering wheel, reconfigured suspension and improved noise insulation. A helper G-Vectoring Control made the “treshka” obedient in check and easier to run. Competitors? There are many of them. Rival with them in Russia, the non-localized “Japanese” is not easy, nevertheless, in our country there are many who are ready to shell out for style, comfort, and quality. In cars of a compact class these qualities are collected together more and more rarely.
