Before the trip to Sweden, I was sure that only refreshed cabin – the more that just three years ago restyled version of the Scania Streamline has been shown with the most advanced solutions … However, the changes were much more – it’s really a new car. 20 billion SEK (about € 2 billion), who went to the development of a new generation, not spent in vain!

But it took several years, and the new Mercedes and Volvo are already familiar. The same is likely to happen with Scania. The fact that the main carriers – some of the most conservative groups of customers, their only conservative bus owners – they did not like innovations.

So the design – it is a matter of taste, and though he is interesting, but not in the first place. Much more interesting functionality – and here it is, a story to tell. To begin with, the new Scania is now sports a four-storey light engineering: the combination of working and if the fog lights in the bumper and underneath it has long been customary, the new generation of trucks were added to LED running lights, which is also expected. But more … Narrow triangles under the windshield – it’s not the size – a main-beam headlamp! The same can be said about the lights in the upper corners of the cab. The windshield was just as flat as in the predecessor – and that is good, and in combination with the fact that the driver’s seat shifted forward visibility is even improved. The chassis is completely rearranged: a tank with a synthetic urea was moved under the frame, brake receivers hidden between the side members, and the batteries were placed in the rear overhang. This is not just another “tail” on the old frame – it really is the new cab. At the moment there are two versions: as they are called themselves “skanievtsy”, “20-inch” and “17-inch”.
