The Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster officially debuts in public at the Paris Motor Show at the end of this month, but now the Germans have presented the novelty via the Internet.
The open-top model will appear in two versions: the usual AMG GT and the high-performance AMG GT C. Both are equipped with a familiar 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine, as well as an upgraded seven-speed AMG SpeedShift with two clutches.
The base model of the roadster offers 469 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque – an increase of 13 hp. And 22 lb-ft compared to the coupe. Option GT C produces up to 550 horsepower and 502 lb-ft, which is 47 hp. And 23 Nm more than the GT S coupe. It is obvious that the AMG GT C will take the place of performance between the GT S and GT R. The next year should appear similar with a fixed roof.
As for the roof, the Germans used a folding soft top that opens and closes in 11 seconds. The function operates at speeds up to 50 km / h. In conclusion, we note that the GT C uses the same active system of the rear wheels, which we saw on the GT R, plus the width of the rear wheels and wings increased.
