In February 2014 the company from Maranello introduced an updated version of its best-selling Ferrari California T. The first in the history of the brand coupe-convertible, in addition to changes in appearance, interior and suspension also received a completely new engine. Previously, the youngest of the prancing stallion raced toward the horizon aspirated V8 in volume of 4.3 liter direct-injection, but now it will make 3.8 V8 twin-turbo. Why the fuss?
The new engine – a blood relative of the motor from the Maserati Quattroporte sedan, subjected to considerable revision. In the mid-80s things were not going well at Ferrari. Comparative tests with the main rival showed that Ferrari uncompromising approach paid off. Despite the advanced four-wheel drive, which gave Porsche 959 advantage at the start, when it reaches 200 km / h "German" was a sad look after the rapidly retreating F40.
