International motor show in New York undoubtedly is considered one of the significant events in the automotive world. This year, for example, the auto show showed the world’s fastest crossover. What else did they bring to Manhattan?
Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 and GLC 63 Coupe
“Mercedes” is trying to differ at every motor show, now and then “firing” new models. In New York, the German automaker introduced the “charged” crossovers Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 and Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 Coupe. Both cars have under the hood a supercharged four-liter V8 from Mercedes-AMG GT. In total there will be two versions: the standard 467-strong and the modification capacity of 510 “horses” with the letter “S”. The latter, among other things, has a rear electronically controlled differential.
Also Mercedes-Benz in New York first showed the updated S-class. However, at a closed event and only journalists who have been photographed. But the main details of the novelty are already known. Externally, the “esque” will receive other bumpers and slightly modified optics. But there will be much more technological changes. The new S-class was equipped with an autopilot of the third class (five in total), which, according to the capabilities, will be compared with the Tesla system. Plus on the flagship for the first time will work a system of communication between cars and the Car-to-X infrastructure.
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Trackhawk
The brutal premiere of the New York Motor Show was the world’s fastest crossover – the Grand Cherokee with the SRT Trackhawk attachment to the title. He has a 6.2-liter Hemi V-shaped “eight” compressor of 717 hp, working in tandem with an eight-speed automatic. Up to American 60 miles per hour (97 km / h), an all-wheel drive SUV weighing 2.5 tons accelerates in 3.5 seconds. And this is 0.3 s faster than the Porsche Cayenne, which previously owned the title of the fastest crossover on the planet.
