If you believe the Germans, in the near future Skoda will bet on the expansion of the line of crossovers, and then it will be time for other models. In total, until 2023, the Czech brand will present at least five important novelties.
Skoda Yeti – the end of 2017
The new generation of the Czech crossover will be built on the MQB platform and have much in common with the SEAT Ateca and the future Volkswagen T-Roc. From its predecessor, the new Yeti will differ by 106 mm in length, 30 mm in width, but with a smaller height of minus 40 mm. As before, the model will keep interesting opportunities for the transformation of the cabin, and the availability of the all-wheel drive system. But the line of engines, most likely, will remain without significant changes, and will include units with a capacity from 115 to 150 hp.
Skoda Polar – 2019 year
Currently, until the end, it is not known how the new small crossover B-class will be called. One of the variants of the name is Polar. At least, Skoda has already patented this name. The novelty will be built on the MQB A0 platform and will become the nearest relative of the Volkswagen T-Cross crossover. And Polar should replace the Fabia wagon, which will be removed from production.
Skoda Kodiaq Coupe / Vision E
The fact that Skoda will release an off-road coupe is no longer a secret. The prototype of this model will be shown in the near future at the auto show in Shanghai under the name Vision E. However, further questions begin. Skoda Vision E will be a fully electric crossover, while the regular Kodiaq is equipped with traditional ICE. There are two options for the development of events. Either the Kodiaq Coupe will be offered not only with ICE, but also with an electric motor, or the Vision E will be a completely separate model, and the Kodiaq will simply receive another type of bodywork. All points above i will be placed in 2019.
Skoda Octavia – 2019 year
Not so long ago, the best-selling Czech brand survived the upgrade, having received a bifurcated optics. Who did not like these lights, it’s better to wait for 2019 – then Skoda will introduce the “Octavia” of the new generation. They promise that the model will become much more advanced in technical terms. For example, the new Octavia will receive a system that allows it to move in unmanned mode at certain speeds, as well as a remote-controlled automatic parking system. Also, the appearance of a fully electric version with a power reserve of up to 600 km is also planned.
Skoda Superb – 2022/2023 year
Finally, the flagship Skoda Superb also expects a generation change. Novelty 4.86 meters long will receive a common platform with Volkswagen Arteon, but it will be much cheaper than the latter – 25,750 euros against 33,000 euros. Also during the production cycle, Superb will receive a hybrid version, capable of overcoming only electric traction up to 100 kilometers.
