How not to wash the car

Washing the car yourself is not a bad idea. The most important thing is to remember some very important rules

In a crisis, all means of economy are good. One of the most obvious ways is not to spend a lot of money on washing. No, we do not encourage you to drive in a dirty car. Quite the opposite! Save money by washing the car yourself. In addition, the warmer the weather becomes, the easier it is to do so. Especially considering that the dacha season is about to begin and millions of Russians will leave for the city.

That’s just how to properly wash the car? Many motorists admit a number of mistakes that lead to damage to paintwork. Naturally, after this, there is no desire to return to an independent car wash. Therefore, we will go from the opposite, and tell you what you can not use if you decide to wash the car yourself.

By the way, just in case, we remind that it is not only forbidden to wash a car on the banks of rivers, lakes and other bodies of water, but also a mauve ton. Let’s respect ourselves and others, and at the same time take care of our native nature.

So, if you decide to wash the car yourself, then in this case …

Do not use dishwashing detergents

At first glance, washing the machine with a dish washing agent does not look like a bad idea. After all, if we eat from these plates, what will be our “iron horse”? But in fact, it’s a delusion. The fact is that the means for washing dishes have a composition that effectively cleaves fat and other food waste. If you hit the body of a car, it will inevitably destroy the paintwork.

The same goes for the sponge for washing dishes. No matter how soft they seem, when they come into contact with the surface of the car they will leave micro-scratches. As a result, such a sink, instead of saving, can bring to the car owner the costs of restoration of the LCP. Do you want it? Therefore, we buy a special car shampoo, a car sponge and a special cloth made of microfiber.

Do not use one bucket

Let’s say you fulfilled the previous paragraph, and you have a special shampoo, sponge and a microfibre cloth. Next people usually roll the car out of the dacha hose, take a bucket of water, fill it, dilute it with shampoo and proceed to apply foam on the body with a sponge. Please do not do this. Let us explain why. The fact is that during the first application of shampoo to the surface of the car your sponge is still clean, but when after that you dip it into the bucket for the second time, the liquid inevitably gets dirt remaining from the contact of the sponge with the car. And then this mud will again be on the LCP.

To prevent this from happening, there are two ways. The first is to pour a bucket of foam water on the car, and then start working with a sponge. But this is an uneconomical case – who knows how many buckets you will need? It is much more effective to prepare three buckets for work. In the first, you will squeeze out the dirty sponge immediately after the treatment. Then the sponge will need to be rinsed in the second bucket. And only then it can be dipped in a third bucket with shampoo. In this simple way, you can reduce the further dirt on the LCP to a minimum.

Do not use suede and old towels

Often motorists wipe cars and remove water with materials that are not intended for this. Just in case, we remind you, the best for these purposes is suitable special rags or napkins that can be bought in a car dealer or supermarket in the relevant department. But what you need to avoid is different old rags or towels. The fact is that often in such a rag already firmly soaked in dirt, and it will inevitably scratch the LKP of your car, even if at first glance you do not notice it.

Wiping a car with a piece of suede is also not the best option. Although this material absorbs water well, suede particles will remain on the body of your car. As a result, the machine will have to be cleaned also from suede, and if this is not done, the LCP may have microarcas.

Do not wash the engine yourself

Let’s say you washed the body. And what about the dirty space? After all, dirt also accumulates there, especially after driving on our roads … We recommend – do not wash the engine yourself. At least, do not use a high-pressure device for this, and especially do not try to pour a bucket of water under the hood (sometimes there are such cases). This is fraught with contact of water with wiring and various sensors, which can fail. Therefore, for the sake of safety of your car – better do not do it yourself, trust the washing of the engine compartment with professionals. And if you really need to wash the motor, choose a high-quality SRT, so that in case of anything you could make a claim.

Do not use home chemistry

So, your car glitters, it remains only to quickly put things in order in the cabin. Shake and rinse the mats is not so difficult, as well as vacuuming the seats and wiping the front panel with a damp cloth or cloth. But what do you do with the glasses? They, too, need to be treated, because the dirty glass sweats more quickly because of the dust particles on which moisture condenses. At first glance, windows are best washed with the usual glass cleaner that you use at home. But we do not recommend doing this. The fact is that the chemistry for the house has a too sharp smell. In a closed car space, this can be a problem. Of course, you can open the windows and wait longer until the product disappears. But it is much easier to buy specially a product for automobile glass, containing special fragrances. The benefit of it is not so expensive.

Summarize. Everyone can wash the machine himself. By and large, this is not such a complicated operation. The most important thing is to prepare well for it, and not neglect simple, but important nuances.
