The company Kia introduced at home in South Korea, a hybrid model based on the latest generation Optima. Recall, there it is sold under the name K5.

In terms of design, the novelty hardly differs from the usual version presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show. There are some minor changes in the grille and bumpers. Customers will be able to order new 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The most important change occurred under the hood. There is a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter engine with supercharged, producing 156 hp. (115 kW) and 189 Nm (139 lb-ft) of torque. It works with an electric motor that generates an additional 52 hp. (38 kW) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft). The configuration also includes a special six-speed automatic transmission developed for hybrid models.

In conclusion, we note that Kia plans to launch the Optima Hybrid in Europe next year.
